Week 30 Today we caught up with my mum for a belated catch up for her birthday. We decided to take a drive up the Blue Mountains to Leura pub.  It was a lovely sunny day and surprisingly not as chilly as I was expecting. Dylan's cousin Charlie kindly put together some cute 'party bags' which included some fun party favours.  Dylan blew, and blew, and slobbered, and finally.... success!! It sure got him giggling! Week 29 We now have a mountaineer in our midst! Someone has learnt that he is just that little bit taller now. The lounge has been fair game for a few weeks, and so has the coffee table. But this week, he's taken on the challenge of the dining room chairs, and up on top of the dining table! Naughty boy! And so another chapter comes to a close

Today was another one of those days where I realise Dylan is not the baby he was such a seemingly short time ago.  Today was Dylan's first day of moving on to cows milk permanently. The last of the formula is gone, and there's no going back.  We had a couple of false starts moving off the formula, and a few times where we chose to not change things up too much.  I thought he'd be ready shortly after his first birthday, but he still seemed so small, and so needing that bottle of milk.  Then he started daycare, and it just wasn't the right time. Then he went through a period of a couple of months where he was sick with cold after cold.  And lastly we've moved him off having 2 day sleeps, and down to one just after lunch. I decided not to buy any more tins of his S-26 Gold Stage 3 Toddler milk, and see how we'd go getting him onto the odd bottle of cows milk.  I tried mixing half formula and half cows milk in his bottle to get him used to the taste, but he hated

Week 28 I finally caved.  We had one too many mornings of crazy wild hair sticking up in every direction only fixed by a hat!  I took Dylan for his very first haircut this week. Those sweet baby curls are now gone, trimmed into a neat toddler boy style. It makes me want to cry! But he does still have a few waves in his hair, so maybe not all the curls will be gone forever. He happily sat up in the hairdressers chair shaped kinda like a quad bike. His hands were busy playing with all kinds of toys, and only occasionally did he turn around and wonder what this hairdresser woman was doing. I was so proud of how well he behaved.... Until it was time to leave... And that meant leaving all these fabulous new exciting toys.  Cue massive massive screaming crying kicking scratching pinching rolling around on the floor tantrum. I couldn't get away quick enough! A portrait of my son, once a week, every week in 2014 Joining in with Jodi and Project 52. Bel

Week 27 I think I can say its been a pretty good week. Even if Dylan is still getting over his cold, he's been happy and pretty settled.  We've even made the transition to 1 day sleep pretty easily which I'm kinda amazed by.  Our days at home where we tried the one sleep have resulted in some pretty big naps. Naps around 3 hours roughly, with one just yesterday for closer to 4 hours!! He had his first attempt of the one nap at daycare on Friday and it went great!! He was down for 3 hours and apparently all the carers were amazed. They said they kept going in to check on him and make sure he was still breathing as he was in such a deep and peaceful sleep. What a good lad! Last night we had a birthday dinner out for Dylan's Pa. It was the first time we've taken him out for a while. I prepared by packing some snacks just in case there were some delays with dinner. And there were, so we did have a few tears and tanty's but a chunk of tasty garlic bread soon fixe
