VW cruise to St Albans

So last weekend really was a busy one.  On the Sunday we decided to join a few others on a navigational run with our car club.  We hadn’t been on a car club run in ages, so it was nice it get the Kombi out and go for a drive.  It was our club's 30th Anniversary, and this same route we were about to take was first done on the original run of the club.

We met up with all the other starters at Parramatta.  We got our question sheet, and hit the road carefully following the directions.  We managed to not miss any important signs, or take any wrong turns which was a miracle!  It really was a nice drive and Dylan happily sat in his seat looking out the Kombi windows.  He only really got a bit cranky after we told him we were going on a boat, but when we got there, he wasn’t allowed out of the car.  I guess the ferry across the river there is a pretty short ride and so they don’t allow people to get out and have a good look around.





 
We finally made it to the pub at St Albans, where the cruise ended and we could order a good pub lunch.  All the cars parked together and everyone seemed to sit around under the trees, have a few drinks, chat and catch up on all the latest.





After lunch, the winners of the question sheet were awarded, and people eventually started to head off.  Turns out we did better than expected and came first!  Winners are grinners!!

The trip home was uneventful, but it felt like a long long way.  Another great day out, albeit a tiring one.

Week 34 Unfortunately things fell apart during the week.  I was hoping that we were all on the mend but it quickly became apparent that we weren't, and we went downhill quickly.  There's been more whinging and moaning and sleepless nights and day naps and the tissues... boxes and boxes of tissues.  It's just no fun.  When the sleepless nights turn into cranky days, you just lose your shit sometimes. You yell. You yell at anyone who's there. You say things I'm sure you wouldn't normally say if you were well.  And decisions, oh my god, why is it so friggin hard to make a decision??? Like what should we have for dinner? Or should I put that other load of washing on or will it piss down with rain?? We had to go do some grocery shopping one day this week.  I was wearing a new-ish dress and could not for the life of me work out which shoes to wear with it. So Dylan takes the opportunity to choose some from my wardrobe and model them around the bedroom for me!  Such a funny little man!  He even got them on the right feet!   A portrait of my son, once a week, every week in 2015 Shoes were fun for a minute or two... then back to his trains of course!   Joining in with Jodi and Project 52 .   Bel

Week 11 What can I say about this week??  Not much other than there has been a serious lack of sleep.  I can mostly blame this lack of shut eye on the weeny boy, but otherwise I only have myself to blame.  One night out with my girlfriends was the culprit on one of those occasions.  But it was such a fun night, no kiddies, no husbands, just a few hours of good girl gossiping and frivolity!  The next day, being a work day, no amount of concealer would hide the under eye bags. The only thing to do was dose up on coffee and get through the day.  It was good in theory, but after multiple coffees; more than I would normally drink, I was buzzing! I was still buzzing at about 3am the next morning... Not the way to get a good night's sleep. One piece of exciting news for the week was that I finally got my new digital SLR camera!
