Week 9

So here we are in Week 9. Summer has officially ended, and it feels like it's autumn already with the miserable dreary weather and cooler temps.  I know we desperately need the rain, but I miss the sunshine already!  Dylan absolutely loves being outside in the backyard, even the carers from Daycare have commented on how much he enjoys it.  So after going a bit crazy from keeping him indoors most of the day yesterday we decided to venture out this morning in between showers.  Dylan was still in his jammies, which are too big so I rolled up the pants and put a peg on the back to keep his pants up attached to the top!  First thing he does the minute he's outside, run over to a puddle and stick his hands in!  I'm thinking gumboots and a raincoat might be required if this rain keeps up - for both Dylan and I!

    I assume that gum boots and rain coats will be a must in Auckland too, better get some for Lucas...

      I hope you have better luck finding a raincoat and gumboots in Lucas' size cos I haven't seen any here for Dylan yet. Maybe it's more a winter thing??

Week 34 Unfortunately things fell apart during the week.  I was hoping that we were all on the mend but it quickly became apparent that we weren't, and we went downhill quickly.  There's been more whinging and moaning and sleepless nights and day naps and the tissues... boxes and boxes of tissues.  It's just no fun.  When the sleepless nights turn into cranky days, you just lose your shit sometimes. You yell. You yell at anyone who's there. You say things I'm sure you wouldn't normally say if you were well.  And decisions, oh my god, why is it so friggin hard to make a decision??? Like what should we have for dinner? Or should I put that other load of washing on or will it piss down with rain?? This week I've really felt quite isolated.  On my own little sick island where nobody wants to go.  Some days you just wish you had that magic fairy that would come and get your shit done for you.  I've been so lethargic this week that makes it seem everything

We had to go do some grocery shopping one day this week.  I was wearing a new-ish dress and could not for the life of me work out which shoes to wear with it. So Dylan takes the opportunity to choose some from my wardrobe and model them around the bedroom for me!  Such a funny little man!  He even got them on the right feet!   A portrait of my son, once a week, every week in 2015 Shoes were fun for a minute or two... then back to his trains of course!   Joining in with Jodi and Project 52 .   Bel

Week 11 What can I say about this week??  Not much other than there has been a serious lack of sleep.  I can mostly blame this lack of shut eye on the weeny boy, but otherwise I only have myself to blame.  One night out with my girlfriends was the culprit on one of those occasions.  But it was such a fun night, no kiddies, no husbands, just a few hours of good girl gossiping and frivolity!  The next day, being a work day, no amount of concealer would hide the under eye bags. The only thing to do was dose up on coffee and get through the day.  It was good in theory, but after multiple coffees; more than I would normally drink, I was buzzing! I was still buzzing at about 3am the next morning... Not the way to get a good night's sleep. One piece of exciting news for the week was that I finally got my new digital SLR camera! Yippee!!  The bad news is... I don't know how to use it other than "Auto" mode which kinda defeats the purpose. Oh well... It's something new
