Week 39 I'm having one of those real lazy Sunday afternoons. I feel like I need it after a late night out at the footy (my team won and has now made it into the Grand Final) and where I think I was too excited to sleep well. Oh and it doesn't help that someone forgot to close the shutters last night so I was woken by the bright morning lights at 6am! My hubby is sick again and Dylan is a bit snotty too.  So far I'm avoiding it, fingers crossed it skips me this time around! Earlier today I took Dylan to the park to give hubby some space.  He's working on my car at the moment. All prep work before he repaints the whole thing. There's all kinds of chemicals out in the garage and I don't want Dylan to be around them too much.  The park was empty so Dylan enjoyed going on the slide time after time. I headed down the slide after Dylan and promptly ripped a button off my pants back pocket! Obviously adults wear just isn't cut out for park playtime. The slide ga

Week 38 This week has had my head filled with forward planning ideas.  Hubby's 40th birthday is in a few weeks and I really need to get a few things crossed off my list.  Our holiday is coming up next month and I'm sure we'll look like one of those families who are "getting away from it all, and taking it all with them" with our car packed to the brim.  Then just before the dreaded "C" word, we have Dylan's 2nd birthday to contend with.  So many lists to write, so much to do.  I don't want to think about any of it right now! What better way to take my mind off things than a chilled out afternoon at the park.  Dylan had a blast! A portrait of my son, once a week, every week in 2014 Joining in with Jodi and Project 52 . Oh my! Look what made an appearance today!

Legs!! Little stubby legs! They decided to appear after I dug out a pair of shorts for Dylan from last summer. Sized 1, I adjusted the waistband to the loosest they could go and they just fit nice and snug. We won't see much more wear in these but luckily I had a great big parcel arrive from the US last week filled with summery shirts and shorts for Dylan. God love internet shopping!! Ha ha! So after these legs appeared a picnic lunch was in order and then more playing.  Dylan decided to walk along the garden edging and then attempted to jump off the edge.  He tried.... And tried... And up... And almost.... And then toppled off with a thud... And a big giggle.  Love you little man! Bel

Week 37 This week Dylan has been totally and utterly obsessed by blowing bubbles. Any chance he can get outside he's asking for bubbles. Doesn't matter if it's pouring rain, windy as hell or fine outside, he just wants to go blow bubbles.  I guess there are worse things we could be doing. I couldn't actually get any photos of the weeny boy blowing bubbles, as I have to be beside him blowing bubbles too.  He does have a bit of a tendency to slosh the bubble solution around and I don't think it mixes so well with cameras! It's been a beautiful day today.  Blue skies, sunny, warm, and perfect weather for getting outside.  Dylan had a little picnic lunch in the backyard and then a play.  He seemed just so excited to be outside in the sunshine and not totally rugged up.  We decided to test run his new hat before our little holiday next month.  Luckily Dylan has turned out to be one of those kids that loves wearing hats. Beanies, sunhats, anything, he'll wea

Spring cleaning

So it's spring, and today I've done the closest thing I'm likely to get to a 'spring clean'. When I say today, I don't mean one of those all day things.. I was willing to dedicate a whopping great total of about 15 minutes to the job. I'm super keen you see. My spring clean was purely focussing on one of the kitchen cupboards/pantry. It's a corner cupboard under the bench and it is in no way organised. I have a bunch of containers filled with the usual flours, rices, breadcrumbs, etc. But mostly it's just packets and packets of stuff just chucked in there and the door quickly shut! Last week I was so appalled at the state of the cupboard that I didn't even take some of the shopping out of the shopping bag, it just got chucked in and forgotten about.... Until I realised the Tim tams were in there. They were quickly retrieved! I knew I'd have a few double ups, but I didn't expect it to be so bad. 7 packets of spaghetti, 3 packets of fet

Week 36 It's Fathers Day today. Happy 2nd Fathers to you hubby! Dylan happily carried your present out to you this morning. I know Dylan will enjoy a few of your chockies with you, but it's the book I hope you like the most. A book just for daddies to read to their weeny boys.
