The week that was...

Image
It's Saturday morning and its been an enjoyable week so far. My hubby decided to make the most of our Anzac Day public holiday on Thursday and  take a couple of days off either side of it. I was happy to have him home and for the support as Wednesday morning we took Dylan off to the doctors for his 4 month immunisation. Dylan was so brave and really didn't cry all that much. I was just happy that he's healthy and a happy little boy. On Tuesday I had a old work colleague come over for a visit. She brought her gorgeous 7 month old boy with her, while her 4 year old daughter was in daycare for the day. We weren't entirely sure, but other than Facebook, we think we haven't seen each other in maybe 5 or 6 years. We've both kept in contact with different circles of friends from those old work days. I'm glad it didn't really turn into a big reminiscing session as we've both moved on with our lives since we worked together. I left that company back in 2006

It's everywhere!

I had a feeling it was going to happen sooner or later. I was warned. I didn't think much of it. But now it's happening. I'm losing my hair! Yep, just call me Mr Baldy! The post pregnancy hair loss has begun. It's not just after I've washed my hair and comb it, it's practically all the time. I'm constantly finding hair all over the place. It's on my clothes. It's on the furniture. I find it in the sink. It's in my bed. It's down my back. It's everywhere!! It's not coming out in clumps at least. Well not yet anyway! I can't say that I have big bald patches like I've heard some women get. But that's not to say I won't get them... Or I may already have them and just can't see it. Gosh I hope I don't lose too much. I hope it stops soon. From what I've read this could go on for months yet. I also read how dangerous it can be. Strands getting wrapped around little fingers and other body parts like miniature tou

Setting myself a challenge

Well if being a new mum wasn't enough, I decided to set myself a new challenge. I decided to go for it out of sheer boredom... food boredom! Sick and tired of the same old meals week in and week out, I figured it was time to try new things. My hubby is no help either when coming up for ideas for dinners. His standard response is to reply with a question of what do I want for dinner?! It drives me mad.  Now we won't be going overboard with it! No way!  I think if I try for one new or different meal or dish per week, that's a good start. Yes, I'm happy with that. Challenge accepted! I'll say that I started my challenge in this past week. I got all inspired while grocery shopping and bought a few bits and bobs to work with. The first meal I attempted was from a recipe I got when I went to an Indian cooking class a year or so ago. Butter chicken with spicy rice was served up to hubby and it was devoured! Dinner a few nights later was a gorgeously delicious beef mussam

Easter is done and dusted for another year

Image
Well the long weekend for Easter is over for another year. 4 whole days of having my hubby home from work has been great. We got through a few jobs at home that had been lurking around for some time. But best of all was a chance just to relax and enjoy the time off. We got our first chance to be the Easter bunny to our little man, and boy was it fun!! I can see that these kinds of special days will take on a whole new meaning in the coming years. The excitement leading up to the big day, and then the joy of their excited little faces on the day. So cute! We had a family brunch on the Easter Monday and most of the rellies got to meet Dylan for the first time. He was really well behaved for most of the day even when he started getting a bit overtired. My mum knitted him the most adorable little bunny hat and it was a hit! What a cheeky smiley boy! Our little bunny boy It's an overcast day today and I'm struggling with the motivation to do much. I was motivated to go for

Nothing special to report

It's one of those nothing days. Nothing special about it. Nothing to do. Nothing kinda weather too. Although I am supposed to be meeting up with my mothers group and going for a walk today. Weather is looking rather threatening though so I'm not sure if our walk will go ahead. I hope so. I do need to get off my butt and do some exercise. And I do want to meet up with the girls as we usually have a good laugh. I did go for a reasonable walk yesterday which felt great. We walked a couple of kilometres to the chemist and back. I had to pick up my motilium prescription as I was starting to run out. Motilium is used to help increase milk production and I need all the help I can get! The pharmacist was chatting to me about how you are supposed to wean off it after your production has been spiked. I nodded and headed out the door... Maybe for some this stuff helps to exclusively feed, but not me! I still have to make almost a full bottle up for Dylan each and every feed. I don't f
