Nerves

Today I am just a bundle of nerves.  Stupid I know, but I just can't help it. On Saturday hubby listed my old car for sale as the new car arrived from the dealership about 2 weeks ago.  We'd spent a while contemplating the sale, or the idea of my old car becoming hubby's car, and then selling his car, which was my old beetle.   In the end we couldn't part with my beetle, so my little hatchback was to be sold.  We didn't want to do it as soon as the new car arrived, as it would just be doing the usual daycare duties, shopping trips, and of course being left at the train station on the days I worked.  But, with Friday being my last day of work before maternity leave, Saturday afternoon was spent photographing the car and putting the ad online.  Within a hour we'd had 2 enquiries!  Eeek! We really didn't think it would happen so quick!  Sunday morning we had one of the enquiries come to inspect the car and he dropped back in on Sunday afternoon with a deposit

Second last week of work done and dusted.  Looking forward to my last 3 days of work this coming week then a chance to try and rest up before this bub makes an entrance.  I'm noticing that I'm becoming more and more drained by just everyday duties, and today, getting down onto the floor to play with Dylan was no exception.  After a very short stint on the floor I just had to get up and move around.  There was definitely no sneaky shots of him from around the corner playing.  I sat his chair up, told him to sit, and that was that!  Of course he thought it was hilarious and wanted to copy everything I did.  So here he is holding his imaginary camera snapping away right back at me.  I even got told to "say cheese mummy"!! So very very late posting this week.  Its certainly been a big week, and this time, that means an EXPENSIVE one!  We got our new car delivered for starters.  Nothing wrong with my little 12-ish year old hatchback with 1 billion kilometres on the dial, but the people that design cars really have some explaining to do.  The anchor points for the baby car seats are located at the rear of the boot, meaning the straps run diagonally right through the guts of the bootspace.  I mean what parent needs bootspace?? Come on!!  How ridiculous!!  So we could fit the 2 baby seats in the car, but the pram, and any anything else bulky... ummm... strap it to the roof???  So a new car was pondered over for months and months and eventually decided upon.  So far I'm calling it the "art gallery" cos it's just for looking at.  I'm not allowed to take it for drives to the shops or where ever apparently.  I have just 1 more week of work before maternity leave kicks in, and I've been

On Monday this week I worked from home.  It's not too often that I do it, but I really seem to enjoy it.  On my lunch break I decided to ignore the black skies and walk up to the nearby service station and buy some more milk.  Of course I was less than a minute from home before it started pouring!  Oh well!  About halfway there I passed a house that was having a clean-up with a big pile of junk on the nature strip.  But I did spy a bike, actually 2 bikes, suitable for littlies in the pile.  I slowed down enough to notice that the closer one was small - about the size Dylan needs, still with training wheels attached, but more pinky/purple and white in colour.  Hmm... this could be interesting!  On my way back from the servo I was determined to stop and have a closer look.  I'm not usually a junk collector and I'm normally the last person to want to sort through other people's rubbish in full view of the neighbourhood!  Of course it continued to rain, so holding an umbrel
