The Christmas post

Image
So I figured as every other blog I read has done a wrap up of Christmas Day & it's associated festivities, I should do one too.  We started the day at home and thankfully at quite a reasonable hour (around 7:30ish!).  Dylan came out to see the Christmas tree and immediately spied all the presents.  He certainly needed no invitation to dig in and get unwrapping!  Once the presents were done, and half the house was packed up, we headed up to my Mum's place for Christmas lunch.  There were plenty of toddler tantrums, and not enough nap time, but overall it was a lovely day. Dylan was spoilt rotten and I think I fared pretty well too!  As usual we over-catered, as enough food was prepared to feed a small army!  I tried making a couple of new dishes over the festive season, and I'm pretty happy with how they all turned out.  I just don't want to see any more chocolate/biscuits/cheeses/cakes/other naughty foods for a while cos I think i may have overdone it a wee bit! Happy 2nd Birthday to my beautiful boy

After all the Christmas activities are over and done with I’ve now got a chance to catch up on some posts I’ve been meaning to add.   The most important would be my weeny boy’s 2 nd birthday!   His birthday fell on the same day as our extended family Christmas catch up, so we had quick birthday presents in the morning, and then his little party the following day.   It turned out great as we all got to see the family, and Dylan thought his birthday just kept on going! He absolutely loved opening his presents this year. Such a change to last year when turning 1 seemed to be a huge deal for us, but he didn’t really understand the concept of birthdays or presents or parties.   This year, he jabbers away about parties and most importantly about cake!   He’s started calling it “Happy cake”, and I guess that’s what it is.   He’s started to try to sing the “Happy Birthday” song, but it just comes out as “Happy Happy to you” which is kinda cute. We decided against trying to invit

Cheeky faces

Dylan has learnt all about the camera and taking his photo.  I guess he should be getting used to it. I've been sticking the camera in front of his face every week now with Project 52.  Sometimes he poses, sometimes he smiles, sometimes he'll say "cheese", then cover his eyes so you don't get the shot.  Yesterday at dinner he just wanted to be cheeky. Week 52 Wow! Wow! Wow! 52 weeks!  I can't believe I made it all the way through.  It's been an amazing experience.  I shall certainly look back on these 52 weeks and see all the special moments that I captured. And so week 52.  Well Christmas happened.  Dylan awoke to find that Santa had left him a nice little stash of pressies under the tree.  He was very excited to open them all and start playing straight away.  Here Dylan had just opened up a book called "Demolition" which has plenty of pictures of trucks and diggers.  Just the thing a weeny 2 year old boy would like! Week 51 What a week!  Crazy work deadlines, dominated the working week for me.  And then finally on Saturday my beautiful weeny boy turned 2!  Happy Birthday Dylan, you are our little star who brightens our days and nights, and makes us smile. Party time!

Better late than never I guess!  I've been meaning to add a post for the last few weeks with some pictures of the little combined 2nd birthday/Christmas party for my old Mothers group.  I think I mentioned it here , but didn't have all the photos handy at the time. We met up at Carss Park on a particularly hot day, had our picnic, opened presents, and watched our littlies have fun playing together.  It's hard to believe we all met when they were just a few weeks old and life was rather different.  A couple of the mums have gone on to have their 2nd bubs this year, so our little group is growing!
